e-PayDay Go® provides the built-in availability of every Fair Work Modern Award. The Modern Awards are provided in real-time and sourced directly from the Fair Work Commission. This powerful functionality also assists you in meeting the obligations of the Voluntary Small Business Wage Compliance Code.
Before starting, you can use the Fair Work Find an Award to confirm which Awards apply to your Business. You can also use the Pay and Conditions tool (P.A.C.T). You may have a Registered Agreement in place, which can be searched on the Fair Work Commission website. If you are unsure, please seek qualified advice.
When an Award or Agreement does not cover a Payee, they are considered Award and Agreement free. However, they are still entitled to at least the National minimum wage and National Employment Standards (NES).
Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 has changed what is reported and how the Employment Basis is now reported in STP2, and the ATO has not included Salary as an Employment Basis option. If the Payee has been hired under an Award, add an Award and do not amend the Rate Per Hour / Annual Salary imported from the Fair Work API, as this will be completed when assigning the Award to the Payee; otherwise, add an Agreement based on the Payee's signed Employment Agreement.
Select Awards/Agreements from the side navigation menu.
To add an Award, select + Add an Award.
To add an Agreement, select the Agreement tab.
Then select + Add an Agreement.
Select the Modern Award from the dropdown list. You can also search by entering the relevant details.
🎯 When a Payee is considered award and agreement-free, we recommend that National Employment Standards (NES) is chosen.
If National Employment Standards (NES), QLD Award or WA Award is selected, enter the Award Name or choose from the options you have previously added. Type the name to add a new Award Name, then press enter on your keyboard.
Enter or select the Classification required for the Payee based on the Modern Award selected.
Change the OTE Hours Per Week and Days Per Week, if required.
The Rate Per Hour is automatically populated from the Fair Work API based on the Classification selected. Change the Rate per Hour or the Annual Salary (Excluding SG) if required.
🎯 If the Award or Agreement is being established for a Casual Payee, ensure the Full Time Rate per Hour is entered. The Loading Component is calculated in the Pay Run using either Casual Loading (OTE) or Casual Loading.
Select Leave Entitlements.
🎯 The Award or Agreement is configured with the rules for a Full Time Payee. However, only the relevant leave rules are pre-filled when the Award/Agreement is assigned to a Casual Payee (e.g., LSL and PFDVL).
Enter the number of Long Service Leave Weeks and Years of Service. Change which accrues if required.
Select Save unless you need to change Annual Leave, Sick & Carer's Leave, Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave (PFDVL) or Rostered Days Off.
Change the Annual Leave Weeks the Payee is entitled to or each year of Employment and Which Accrues if required.
